OneWestTV E-Roc Interview w/ (Official Video) "California" feat. Vice 45

OneWestTV had a chance to catch up with E-Roc Young after his performance at One West Magazine's own Ms. Splashy's Birthday Bash & Showcase at the Bleu XO Lounge. He discussed his future ventures as well as giving us the low down on his video "California" featuring Vice 45.

E-Roc Young, nephew of the late great producer/ song writer Bobby Day, who recorded three songs that are seen today as rock and roll classics. Day's best known songwriting efforts were "Over and Over" made popular by the Dave Clark Five in 1965 and "Little Bitty Pretty One" popularized by Thurston Harris in 1957, Clyde McPhatter in 1962, the Jackson Five in 1972 & finally his 1958 solo recording of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, "Rockin' Robin".

E-Roc Young was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, California. Growing up in a neighborhood where gang bangin was a part of life, he had to learn how to maneuver on the streets of his community. He experienced what most black young men experience in the hoods throughout the inner cities of America; incarceration, gangs, crime, etc.  E-Roc had two parents who adored him and also had a deep love of Music. Having his parents teach him the importance of giving back to his community, E-Roc grew up being active in contributing to his neighborhood. He has volunteered to care for the homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics on downtown L.A. Skid Row. His charitable spirit continued into his adulthood where he has worked and volunteered at Unity Three Community Center in South Central Los Angeles. E-Roc gave talks of encouragement and support to youth in his community to discourage them from gangs, drugs and criminal behavior. Performing at charity events throughout California, E-Roc became a regular at the annual Hollywood Christmas toy drive. Additionally, he has been featured in several online magazines and numerous radio programs, both terrestrial and internet online formats.

E-Roc has been an active and positive force in the lives of his two sons and young daughter. After getting his feet wet as an ‘MC’, earning respect in the underground HIP-HOP scene, and after successfully producing “Six” mix-tape CDs, including, ‘THE GHETTO DON’ featuring Underground Legend, Ke-Ke Loco’, he went back to school to obtain his AA in The Recording Arts. E-Roc has now developed into a seasoned artist who is ready for the main stream. His remarkable ability to paint a picture and tell a story with his words and music, make him a talent to be heard.
