One West Magazine Interview W/ Big Percy

One West Magazine had a chance to interview Big Percy, the manager of Westcoast icon Snoop Dogg. Recently Big Percy launched his new movement Roderick Music Marketing (RMM) at his star studded birthday bash at the Conga Room. Attendees included Suga Free, Warren G, Mike Epps, & The Dogg Pound (Daz/Kurupt) were all on hand.

Big Percy describes his relationship with the Boss Dogg as more than just him performing managerial duties. "Snoop, that's my friend & mentor right there", explained Big Percy. Percy a Pomona, California native, was already closely associated with Dogg Pound affiliates Kokane , Pimpin Young, & Suga Free. Many times they would try to coerce Big Percy to visit the Dogg House with Percy refusing to hang out. "I was like that's what yall do, I'm on these streets right now", Percy elaborated. Big Percy waited until he was absolutely ready to burst on the scene and hasn't looked back since. With his hands in countless ventures Big Percy explained how he appreciates the green light he was given to form his own legacy.

Big Percy's  RMM is apart of the Dogg Pound faction that he operates along with his business partner Compton OG Big A. Percy also serves as Vice President & part owner of "Serious Pimp" clothing. Not being a native of Long Beach Snoop Dogg's hometown and official birthplace of the DPG brand, Big Percy met some resistance from some that thought he was undeserving of the status he reached within the organization. "It's not about being from Long Beach, I always felt I brought something to the table", said Percy as he reflected on his rise to prominence.

Working with DPG newcomers the Hustle Boyz, TC Bradshaw, & Minnesota Fats to name a few Big Percy has been instrumental in further establishing the careers of these artist. "All of them already have their own movements, I just give them that extra stamp they need to succeed", Percy explained. Percy also assisted  Snoop Dogg to bring to life the hot track "Red Light" featuring Hollywood icon Eddie Murphy, who is no stranger to music. Percy makes it clear to any artist that wants to reach out, that he is all ears and ready to hear their music. Big Percy isn't showing any signs of slowing down which is great news for the Westcoast & new talent looking for an opportunity.
