One West Magazine recently spoke with fast rising Compton, California artist Jacc Frost. Frost has been busy mounting up for what seems to be a long and fruitful music career. With the releases of his mixtapes "Weapon Of Choice" Volumes 1 & 2 Frost stated, "Those projects represent a lot of struggle, I just wanted to keep it street".
Working under his own imprint So Affiliated Records, Frost explains he has been a fan of music since he was five years old. When asked how he came up with the moniker "Jacc Frost" he explained, "My homegirl from High School gave me that name and it just stuck". "Turn Up" the hot single off of the first installment of "Weapons Of Choice" and produced by Lil Fresh, is just a taste of a project that Jacc describes as his story. "It's my lifestyle, How I Am & How I Was", Frost went on to clarify. On "Weapons Of Choice" Vol.2 Frost enlisted fellow Compton rapper TC Bradshaw for the blazing track "Get Yo Money" produced by Killa Cadence. "W.O.C" Volume 2 also brings us the heat seekers "Tempting" & "Fuhh & Suuh" which was created strictly for the ratchets. "I'm putting out a least four visuals for each mixtape", Frost elaborated when asked about shooting videos for "W.O.C" Volumes 1 & 2.
Jacc Frost went on to announce So Affiliated Record's partnership with OG Cuicide. "That's my big bro, we put our minds together and made a plan". "He keeps me positive and motivated", Frost explained. With a new album on the horizon in 2014 entitled "Booked Up", Frost envisions having done his due diligence with the "Weapons Of Choice" series and will be ready to take his career to the next level. "Booked Up" is going to bring us more production from the talented Killa Cadence and a variety of other surprises that is sure to satisfy fans that have been following this budding artist evolution. "For Booked Up I'm going to make more party music", "I'm just looking to put together an album that has some balance".
