CLINTON WAYNE "KING OF THE DESERT" BY: DAMIAN SANDERS
Recently I sat down with highly underrated MC Clinton Wayne. Whether it be in the deep south streets of Jacksonville, Florida or the desert sands of Barstow, California the consensus is the same, Clinton Wayne is destined to blow.
Ever since the release of his 2006 smash mixtape debut "Regal Muzik" Clinton Wayne has grown quite a following for himself. Along with the methodical production of F-Major, Wayne introduced himself to the hip-hop universe with a bang. The classic mixtape earned Clinton Wayne Album of the year honors on the UK based Westcoast Hip-Hop website Dubcnn.com as well as an appearance in Source Magazine.
Lots of fans may remember Clinton Wayne for his controversial track "Tax Write Off" Tax Write Off (Hot Dollar Diss) , A Lyrical Scud Missile & response to then So So Def artist Hot Dollar's "I Am Dextox" I Am Detox track which was aimed at Compton MC "The Game". Clinton Wayne grabbed the attention of Dogg Pound Artist & Producer DAZ who went on record stating that Wayne was definitely someone to look for in the future.
After an extended lay-off Clinton Wayne resurfaced in 2010 releasing the prequel http://clintonwayne.bandcamp.com/album/desert-eagle-pre-release to his anticipated album "Desert Eagle". The project was quite a treat for loyal fans that campaigned for some new music from the budding wordsmith. "Desert Eagle" showcased the production of Likwit Crew member J Wells on the Bobby Valentino featured "Buckle Up" http://clintonwayne.bandcamp.com/track/buckle-up-feat-bobby-valentino where Clinton Wayne displays his appreciation of the significant others in his life. The blazing mixtape also saw Quickshott, Dirty Birdy, Dr. Stank, Epademik, Mistah Fab, and many more come out to make this a must add to any mixtape collection.
Clinton Wayne suffered a period of great personal losses that caused him to go into a shell for a while. The death of his Grandmother was just one of many life altering issues which for a moment left Wayne uninspired to continue on in Hip-Hop music.
Finally Clinton Wayne is back and refreshed ready to lace the streets for what he calls his best offering to date "Bi Polar". "Its great to be back and still have fans remember and appreciate me", says Wayne as he vibes to the F-Major produced track "Rumors" featuring Daz Dillinger off the Bi-Polar project. Bi-Polar's impressive line-up also features Ras Kass, Glasses Malone, Phil Tha Agony, Sly Boogy, O.Y.G Redrum 781, Quiz, Smoke E. Digglera, Big2DaBoy, Bo Roc, Snoopy Blue, Verbal, G. Fleezy, Lil Daddy, Twenty-8, Fred Knuxx, Dae One, Scipio, Justin Myracks, Major James, B.Pace, Ghetto Rich, T.Caviar, Toke The Smoke, Capri, Lady Deuce, Reality Jonez, Jai-One & Mixed by talented producer/artist Epademik.
Bi-Polar is set to release in October, so be sure to stay tuned in right here at One West Magazine where "The Westcoast Unites" for updates on this fast rising artist.
